Safety plan

If you decide to leave an abusive relationship with yourself or your child, check out the safety kit below.

  • Bank books: don't forget the book for the account that you both own, and that is in your child's name
  • Get your and your child's identity documents (IDs, child's birth certificate, health insurance book, marriage certificate, driver's license, etc.)
  • Medications used: include children's allergy medications and creams
  • House and car keys
  • List of emergency contact numbers
  • Warm clothes for your child
  • Toiletries for immediate use
  • Mobile phone charger;
  • Be careful not to tell your new residential address to your husband or partner, lest you be abused again.

If you are not yet able to leave your abuser, try to stay safe by:

  • Avoid staying alone with the abuser as much as possible.
  • If you're feeling down, or even if you're feeling normal, connect with your friends as often as possible.
  • Only share this problem with someone you truly trust.
  • Keep your important information and documents in a safe place outside of your home as much as possible.
  • Prepare the necessary resources, clothes and money.
  • If someone threatens you or your children, tell them where and who to turn to for help. Ask your neighbors to call the police if they hear anything.
  • Also prepare a safe place for your children to stay in case of an emergency and the necessary supplies.
